Before contacting the CAB, please make sure that you're contacting us for the right reason(s). Use the following examples in the lists below as a general guide for which types of questions and/or messages are relevant and appropriate and which ones are not.
Appropriate Questions/Messages:
- Requests for cable-related research (e.g. information on cable market share, reach, penetration, demographic trends, viewing trends, and comparing cable to other major advertising media, etc).
- Requests for information on multicultural marketing as it pertains to cable advertising.
- Requests for information on any CAB publication, service or event.
- Requests for information on CAB membership and/or membership benefits.
- General questions on how to use this web site.
- Reporting a problem with this web site (e.g. incorrect or missing information).
- Suggestions for making this web site a better, more valuable resource.
Inappropriate Questions/Messages:
- Questions regarding cable rates. Cable rates are determined by each cable operator on both a local and national basis. We don't have access to nor would we publish this type of information.
- Questions on getting cable service or placing cable ads. We are a cable advertising trade association, not a cable operator. Therefore, you should contact your local cable company to find out how to get service or places ads on a particular system. You may use our Cable System Directory to help locate a system in your area.
- Questions pertaining to placing or producing cable commercials and/or PSAs. Again, we are a trade organization, not a cable operator and do not produce or place advertisements ourselves. Please use the above link to find a cable system to handle this.
- Unsolicited advertisements for any product or service.
Other Suggestions:
- Try to be as specific as possible when making a comment or asking a question. The more information we have, the better we'll be able to address an issue.
